The vision of the Livestock and Dairy Development Department Balochistan (Farms and feed Resources) is to conserve pure indigenous breeds of Bhagnaari and Red Sindhi cattle. Our mission is to promote Dairy and Poultry farming through community involvement. The introduction of exotic milch breeds like Holstein Freisien in the province has played a great role in poverty alleviation through food and social security. Livestock and Dairy Development Department (Farms and feed Resources) is determined to provide milk, meat, and eggs to the people on subsidized rates. Furthermore, the Livestock and Dairy Development Department (Farms and feed Resources) are determined to analyze the nutritive value of forages available in the province as well as to help the farmers to formulate feed requirements for different animals to enhance their production according to their native regions.
Dr. Kamal TayyabThe post of Director Farms was created in the year 1987. In 2001, Directorate of Feed Resources was merged into Directorate of Farms by forming Directorate of Farms and Feed Resources. In the year 2019, Directorate of Farms and Feed Resources has been upgraded as Directorate General of Farms and Feed Resources.
Organization of technical training in the field of animal sciences for veterinarians, veterinary technician and educational institution students
Establishment of high yielding dairy units in remote areas of the province to generate revenue for government treasury
To rear high pedigree Friesian males for cross breeding with local cattle breeds to produce high yielding animals
Multiplication of superior quality of germ plasm and its sustained dissemination throughout the province
Conservation of indigenous breed of cattle and sheep in their purest form
To provide male young stock to farmers for breeding purpose
To provide wholesome milk to public on competitive rates
To provided balance feed for dairy and poultry farms

Livestock can play a vital role to increase the GDP rate in the Economy of Balochistan province, and throughout the country of Pakistan, Government & Private sector’s both, we are trying to improving the service delivery through adapting rapid mechanism of service delivery to increase the productivity of the poultry, sheep & goat, cattle & camel farms and feed resources through interventions of moderns technologies (value addition), health & management practices to uplift the socio economic standards of the people.

Farms & feed resources, livestock & dairy development department strives to ensure growth and development of livestock sector in the province of Balochistan thus contributory to national food security, economic uplift, development, poverty elevation, employment generation, Foreign exchange earning role and objectives of the Director Planning, Farms and feed resources, Livestock & Dairy Development Department are manifest in its following mission statement.
To create an environment for enhancement of farms & Feed resources production to contribute towards domestic requirement of food & exportable surpluses and as a vehicle for social security, poverty alleviation & development.
Transformation of Livestock sector from conventional towards market oriented farming, contribution towards food security and exportable surpluses, contribution significantly in poverty alleviation.
The Director Planning of farms & feed resources Livestock & Dairy Development Department of project aims to strengthen the comparative advantages of the livestock sector in Balochistan province. The ultimate goal is to achieve a balanced regional development and poverty reduction through the promotion of the poultry, small & large reuminent farming rangeland and graping availability in the Livestock sector. Eventually comprehensive master plain on the entire Farm’s & Feed Resources, Livestock & Dairy Development Department Balochistan Livestock sector will be drawn up soon.
Farms & Feed resources, livestock & dairy development department cater’s to the requirement of livestock sector in the province of Balochistan, Livestock is increasingly becoming a very important sector of national economy, contributing even more than all the other agriculture crops combined. The development of Livestock sector has a potential to grow as a driver of change not only in terms of growth and poverty reduction but also reducing inter regional disparity of the province of Balochistan.
